I THINK I BOUGHT THE BEST DRESS EVER.

From Nordstrom's, too, which is weird for me. Their L barely fits me most of the time (and it's not like I'm a whale, I'm only a size 14, barely plus-sized) and I hate most of their designs. But today I wandered into their floral dress section and found this one really pretty purple/pink dress that had a very 50's design on it. So I tried it on and OMG YOU GUYS IT FIT PERFECTLY. PERFECTLY. The skirt is a circle skirt and omg when I wear it it feels like I just stepped out of Hairspray or something <33333
It was $54 (wtfexpensive) but luckily I had a $50 gift card.
I'm going to wear it on the first day of school with a mint cardigan I got from the Gap and black flats with a little bow on them. I love it I love it I love it <3333333333333

Whoa I feel kind of sick Dx I feel a little light-headed. I think it's because I didn't eat lunch- I had ten almonds for breakfast (which sounds like it's too small, but trust me, it's fine) and then didn't eat lunch, and had an iced coffee after I went shopping. Maybe I should go lay down xP

And in other news, I think I'll take a break from lolita for a while. I'll still check out brand websites, post on egl, read the GLB, but I'll stop trying to "lolify my wardrobe" or whatever. My mom HATES lolita, and actually told me today to "act 15 and not 10" (which made me lol) because I wanted one of the cute Hello Kitty or whatever backpacks at Target. I showed her the Bodyline sweets jsk and she hated it :/
I'll probably start saving up my money more, or maybe I'll try to find more 50's style clothing. It's a lot more toned-down, but still has pretty flattering cuts and flared skirts. Plus my grandma will probably love it <3 She wore dresses like that when she was my age and younger :D

Yeah, I'm going to go eat something before I pass out.

So I apparently was given $250 for clothes for school.

Well.

It'll be a fight to get my mom to let me order lolita clothes. My goal right now is to go to school on the first day in full lolita. I'm thinking I want to get these things:

The petti is kind of iffy, but I think it'll be fine for a first petti for one outfit. Plus it's $10. And I'm worried about the bow, mostly because I don't want it to stand up funny like it does in the picture. The dress I want. I think I'd be able to get the dress, too. I'd live if I couldn't get the petti and bow. I could use another skirt I have as a petti because it puffs out quite a bit.

And in other news, I've become obsessed with A Great and Terrible Beauty's Ann.
I think I am Ann, in a sense.

On poupee I now have almost 200r- the most I've ever had. O_O Just by selling some crap I didn't need.

So work today was pretty good except at the end. Today was my b-shift, and my last rotation was interp. I was at the tidepools with this first-year girl and we were answering questions and generally trying to be helpful. Then these 4 other ZooTeens who had been working at the Insect Zoo came over and bugged us for a couple minutes, then left. Then a couple minutes later two of them came back. They were both boys, one a first-year and the other a second-year and they kept harassing us and telling us we weren't doing anything right and told the visitors we were trying to help to not listen to us. Then the second-year asked us what schools we went too and harassed us about that too. Then two of the TLs came to get us so we could leave tidepools, and they were like "wtf r u doin" to the two boys, and we were like "THEY'RE HARASSING US ARGH MAKE THEM LEAVE" and the TLs told them to go get changed and leave. So me and the girl I was with walked back to the farm, and we further explained to the TLs what had happened and they were like "Do you want us to talk to them?" and we were like "Yes D:" and that was that.
And then in the bathroom, one of my friends who had been at insect zoo that day told us that the second-year kid is really obnoxious and a know-it-all. And is apparently trying to get into the Winter Program, where you work during the winter and go through extra training to become a TL. Well, I kind of doubt he'll be a TL now- and I'm glad, because I think he'd be a terrible TL.

On a random note, I love how we call people "first-years" or "second-years" and so one to "fifth-years."" I almost lol'd my first year when I heard the title for the first time, because it sounds like something right out of Harry Potter xD

So I was working today. I'm starting to dislike my A-shifts because I have to wake up at a certain time to get there on time. But it is kind of nice to have a shift with more than 20 people working at once, so we don't have 2 people working the goat yard. That happened on Sunday, and it sucked. Me and my friend were working the gates, and I was doing entrance. We couldn't leave the gates to do ANYTHING, including pick up goat poop, but at one point I made my friend leave the gate to try to find our TL who magically disappeared. So I was doing entrance and exit gate at the same time xD Oh lord.
We ended up finding our TL (he was on break D<) and yelling at him, then me and my friend went on break together :D

Today was good though, because I got to hold one of the ferrets. <3 I love ferrets. The one we had out today was being held by one girl first, and he kept squirming around and trying to get out of his harness (it's like a leash, which I find hilarious) so I finally got to hold him. I didn't hold him correctly xD We're supposed to hold them the way we hold reptiles- the head between our index and middle finger, and one arm between our thumb and our index finger and the other between our middle and ring fingers. Instead, I was holding him kind of like a baby- one arm under him, one around him. He was shivering! But almost immediately he calmed down and rested his head on my arm. Damn, I love ferrets ;__;

Oh yeah, tomorrow I'll probably look up Teen Titan episodes. That's honestly the only show I'm embarrassed to admit I like xD It's killing me to post this on lj. I wish it was still being showed on Cartoon Network. All the good cartoon shows like Teen Titans and Avatar are ending/being cancelled/whatever. Now we're getting crap like that new version of Speed Racer and similarly shitty shows with some of the worst animation I've ever seen.

Okay, apparently they're making Avatar live-action (wtf) movies. Directed by M. Night Shyamalan (WTF).

Oh lord.

So I just saw The Dark Knight a couple of hours ago. It was SO long D: It was pretty good, though. It did one of those movie tricks where you thought it ended, but it really didn't and the story kept going on.
Oh my god the Joker was awesome. Heath Ledger was amazing. He managed to be really creepy and cool at the same time.

But jeez, the movie was barely PG-13. There were people exploding, getting shot, getting stabbed, getting half their face melted off, falling, ect ect ect.

Anyway, I liked it xD

Yesterday I went to Target with my brother and my dad, and in the girl's department I found these:





Adorable! They remind me of Juicy Couture. That's my favorite non-lolita brand, and I like them because they have so many lolita-like motifs xD Crowns, keys, cherries... Once at Macy's I saw a display for their perfume and it had a manikin with a full-sized Rococo hairstyle in pink.

Oh my god it is so hot out ;___; Why is Oregon so hot this summer? I thought it was supposed to rain all the time!

I have work tomorrow. Ugh. Idk what I'll choose my first shift to be. Probably interp because then I get to pick what the rest of the day gets to do xD And if the ferret is out I can hold him >3<

I'm working today. My drives me to work. She drops me off at the zoo on the way to her office.

So I work at the Oregon Zoo as a ZooTeen. Basically I take care of goats, small mammals, and reptiles. I also inform and educate the public on how awesome the Zoo is.
(The Zoo really is great- they don't go out and capture animals, all animals at the Oregon Zoo were either born in captivity or can't live in the wild)

For those of you who don't know the Oregon Zoo, we have two goat yards. One is in the main farm area and has pygora (a mix of pygmy and angora) goats, which are pretty big and very soft, and the other is an older goat yard in the middle of our Africa area which has pygmy and dwarf goats. When I gets to be 90 degrees in the farm goat yard, we have to to close it so that no one can go in and pet them. Well, yesterday is was FREAKING HOT. We had to close the farm goats not long after my shift started(I was working B shift, which was 1:00-6:30), so everyone had to go to African goats for their goat rotation. Well I was on break with one of my friends, and we were going to buy Dippin' Dots but stopped to chat with some of our other friends who were also on break, and one of our supervisors came to give us free otter pops :D

So I go to get in line to buy Dippin' Dots, and my friend suddenly squeals "Oh! Look!" and points to our right. I look, and my heart almost stopped.

There were two lolitas over there.

They were both facing away from me, but I instantly recognized who they were.
faunkegin and swdpunk. (And faunkegin's boyfriend?)

I ran up to them (my friend was kind of like "wtf is wrong with you?") and was like "Hi, I know you from livejournal :DDD"

We chatted for a couple minutes before I was like "I'm on break right now so I need to buy food" and left. I told them to visit me at the African goats, but ended up rotating to the farm to do some other things before they got to the goats. It was very exciting :D

Ashlee and Victoria! Come see me again! I work Sunday afternoons and Tuesday mornings! :DDD If you're planning on coming, let me know in advance so I don't almost have a heart attack again xD (You guys were taller than I thought you'd be xD)

It was exciting for me for two reasons:
1. I've never seen someone I know from the internet irl before.
2. I've never seen (good) lolita being worn irl before.
I mean, I've seen pictures and videos of people wearing lolita, but never actually in front of me. It was really awesome.

So I decided to screw the "friends only" crap. I'm going to make my entries public from now on. Not a lot of people read my posts anyway, but I rarely post in communities, so that's to be expected. Once I start making more posts in egl I'll probably make some more friends, but we'll see.

I wish the AP English store would open sooner! I only have to wait about two weeks, but I can't wait to see the reviews of their new service! AP sells a fully shirred blouse that is adorable. Plus I love all their JSKs. Some people go "ugh its too over-the-top" but I love that kind of stuff!

I love brand socks, but I think I would feel guilty for spending $20-$30 on one pair. Plus shipping. D:

I want to get a job. I'm the kind of person who realizes a summer job is good half-way through summer. It's so frustrating. I need to learn to drive too, because when I turn 16 next year I could just drive myself to work. Actually, I just remembered yesterday we were driving back from Costco and we saw this girl standing outside a little corner of shops holding this guitar that was an ad for a store. I was like "worst job ever" and my mom was like "that's the kind of job you could get."

"Wait, how much would I get paid?"
"Probably minimum wage."
"How much is that?"
"7 or 8 dollars and some cents."
"Hm..."

So I just did some math here. I have no idea how long I would be working- I see people out all day, so I assume I would work between 3-5 hours. Let's go ahead and say I work 5. And let's say minimum wage is $7.
5 hours times $7 = $35
$35 a day? Not bad for a 15 year old.
Then let's say I work for five days.
5 days times $35 = $175.

Yeah, I want a job.

Okay, so I'm still not on YouTube yet xD I am, however, buying a DVD of the skit I was in, as well as three others. The guy who I'm buying it from is a club officer in Japanese Club(and I went to a summer camp-thing with his younger sister last summer xD), and this weekend we're going to be having a Japanese Club party, so I'll ask him if it's going up on YouTube.
Btw I really am dressed like Pikachu in the video.

Oh, for the party, we're going to the restaurant Todai. It's this Japanese all-you-can-eat buffet. The food isn't the best, but it's a fun place to go to once in a while.
Then I might get Helen to see Speed Racer with me, since the restaurant is in a mall that also has a movie theater. She wants to see it because a famous Korean actor is in it.

So this week is dedicated to packing everything in our house in because we are moving into our new house this weekend. This week is also dedicated to me getting caught up in school. And doing a hell of a lot of other things.
